President Donald Trump and His Wife, Melania Trump Test Positive for COVID-19

President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, have tested positive for COVID-19 barely a month before the US presidential election.

The President stated in a tweet put out earlier today.

He said “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!.”

Both President and his wife tested positive to the virus on Thursday evening, according to a report released from the White House after Trump’s tweet.

“The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain home at the White House during their convalescence,” Dr Sean Conley said.

“Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering,” he added.

This is coming two days after Hope Hicks, one of President Trump aides, tested positive for COVID-19 after reportedly meeting soldiers and law enforcement officers.

“It is very, very hard when you are with people from the military or from law enforcement and they come over to you and they want to hug you and they want to kiss you . . . You get close and things happen,” Mr Trump said.

Therefore, Trump likely contracted the virus from Hope Hicks who had accompanied him to a campaign rally in Minnesota before she tested positive the following day.
