Osun State has joined the number of states putting measures in place to enhance job creation post-COVID-19.
On Thursday, the State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Empowerment, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, unveiled a plan to create at least 15,000 jobs annually through industrial development, technical and vocational centres in Osun.
The Commissioner, who spoke after a meeting with the leadership of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency and the management of the Industrial Development Centre, said the initiative was to empower residents, support youths in the state, and businesses in need of employable skills.
He said, “This is a post-pandemic initiative to revive the economy and we are here particularly to address one of the focal areas of this administration – to rejuvenate the economy and empower the citizens.”
