- COVID-19: Nigeria Confirmed Cases Rise to 65
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday announced 14 new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Nigeria.
The centre, through its twitter official handle @NCDCDgov, said 1 of the new cases is in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja while 12 cases are in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital. The remaining 1 was confirmed in Bauchi.
“14 new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 1 in FCT, 1 IN BAUCHI & 12 in Lagos,” the tweet reads.
Also, NCDC added that 6 of the cases were detected on a naval vessel, 3 are returning travellers into the country and 1 is a close contact of a confirmed case.
“Of the 14, 6 were detected on a vessel, 3 are returning travellers & 2 are close contacts of confirmed cases.”
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Africa’s largest economy and the most populous black nation to 65 with 3 discharged and 1 death as at 7:35 pm, March 26, 2020.
