The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, and Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, tested positive to COVID-19 on Friday.

Mr. Johnson, through a video posted on his Twitter, said he is self-isolating after testing positive to the deadly virus.

The 55-year old prime minister said: “I’m working from home and self-isolating and that’s entirely the right thing to do.

“But, be in no doubt that I can continue thanks to the wizardry of modern technology to communicate with all my top team to lead the national fight-back against coronavirus.

“I want to thank everybody involved and, of course, our amazing NHS staff.”

He, however,  added that in the last 24 hours he has developed mild symptoms.

“So thank you to everybody who’s doing what I’m doing, working from home to stop the spread of the virus from household to household,” he added.

“That’s the way we’re going to win.”

Shortly after, Hancock announced he tested positive and was self-isolating with “mild symptoms” of the virus.

“Following medical advice, I was advised to test for #Coronavirus. I’ve tested positive. Thankfully my symptoms are mild and I’m working from home & self-isolating,” Hancock announced on Twitter.
