Tyson Luke Fury, a British-Irish heavyweight undefeated champion, has defeated the former World Boxing Council (WBC) champion, Deontay Wilder in a shocking rematch bout in Las Vegas.

Tyson Fury, 31, won the unified WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, The Ring magazine and emerged lineal heavyweight titles by defeating a long time reigning former champion Wladimir Klitschko in Germany in 2015. The victory catapulted Fury to the eyes of the world and eventually drove him into drug abuse as interests in his private life grew across media.

Suspended for testing positive to cocaine and other banned substances for almost three years, Fury stopped training and gained weight to 27 stones, up from 19 stones. Experts counted him out, saying disciplined fighters struggles in the world’s most brutal sport, how much a man that has abused his body for over two years.

Tyson Fury returned to boxing and after two warm-up fights declared he would face Deontay Wilder, the WBC champion of the world with 42 wins and 41 knockouts. The world said it was an easy fight for Deontay Wilder, arguably the hardest hitting boxer ever.

Fury shocked the world when he fought Wilder to a draw in a largely bias judgment 14 months ago in the United States, coming from the United Kingdom, the British fans screamed fraud while the Americans were happy to have gotten a draw and called for a rematch immediately.

Towards the end of the round Fury landed a hard right hand to the side head and send Wilder to the floor, the first for the former champion. While Wilder managed to get up, the champion legs were gone.

Fury kept at it in round four, remains aggressive with several combinations that further compound Wilder woes in the fifth round. Deontay Wilder went down again in round five following a hard body shot to the body.

Wilder continues to struggle throughout round six and seven before his corner threw in the towel to call it a day. Making it the end of Deontay Wilder Undefeated run of 42 fights.

Tyson Fury is the man that handed Wilder his first draw and eventually defeat.
