Forte Oil Plc will seek shareholders’ approval to change the name of the company to Ardova Plc.

Forte Oil was recently acquired by Abdulwasiu Sowami from billionaire Femi Otedola, who sold its 74.02 percent stakes in the company in June.

The new management led by Olumide Adeosun, the Chief Executive Officer, is seeking approval of its shareholders to change the company’s name to Ardova Plc.

The company disclosed in a statement signed by Oladeinde Nelson-Cole, the company’s Acting Secretary and issued via the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday.

An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders would hold on the 17th of December 2019, according to the statement.

Accordingly, the gathering would be empowered to approve, authorise, sign or execute documents and appoint advisers regarding the matter.

It also stated that the register of members and transfer of books of the company would be closed between December 6 to 15 for the purpose of the meeting.
