The Federal High Court, Lagos Judicial Division, on November 5, 2019, discharged the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank PLC, Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo, from a highly publicised court case.

Mr. Okonkwo, as well as Fidelity Bank’s Head of Operations, Martins Izuogbe had been accused of aiding the then Minister of Petroleum Resources and President of OPEC, Diezani Alison-Madueke, in syphoning the sum of $153 million that were supposedly meant for the 2015 elections.

Mr. Okonkwo was discharged from the case, which came after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission began investigating incidences of fraud flagged by the Independent National Electoral Commission in the Eastern parts of the country.

Mr. Okonkwo, after the dismissal of the case, has resumed as the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank.
