  • Nigerian Stock Exchange Loses 0.21% Last Week

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) sustained bearish trend last week as sentiment remained weak.

The NSE All-Share Index declined by 0.21 percent from 26,348.73 recorded in the previous week to close the week at 26,293.30.

While market capitalisation of listed equities also dipped slightly by 0.21 percent to N12.799 trillion.

The activity level was unchanged as 1.511 billion shares valued at N16.193 billion were exchanged in 15,544 deals, similar to 2.051 billion shares worth N16.126 billion that were traded in 13,506 transactions.

A sectorial breakdown shows the financial services sector led the activity chart with 1.301 billion shares worth N10.020 billion traded in 10,204 deals

The ICT sector came second with 59.862 million shares valued at N3.175 billion that were traded in 487 transactions.

Conglomerates industry came third with 53.268 million shares worth N125.514 million shares in 525 deals.

Also, Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc, Zenith Bank Plc and FCMB Group Plc. led top traded stock by volume with a combined 749.819 million shares worth N4.727 billion in 2,446 deals.
