The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited said it has spent a total of N41.1 billion on projects in Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa and Abia states in the last 13 years.

Mr. Igo Weli, the General Manager, External Relations, SPDC, disclosed this during the inauguration of one of the projects in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

At the event organised by both Tarakiri Cluster Development Board and the Oporomor Cluster Development Board, 24 projects valued at N496.9 million were completed and handed over to Tarakiri Cluster communities while projects worth N737.4 million were handed to Oporomor Cluster Development Board.

SPDC is a joint venture involving Shell, Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited.

Ayamasa, Agbere, Isampou, Ofoni, Agbidiama and Egbemo-Angalabiri communities were beneficiary of the Tarakiri Cluster communities projects.

While Peretorugbene, Amambolou, Oweigbene, Ndoro I, Ndoror II, Tamogbene and Norgbene benefited from Oporomor Cluster in the Ekeremor LGA.
