• Boris Johnson Announces New Brexit Deal

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, took to his Twitter on Thursday to announce what he called a ‘great new deal’ for the country to exit the European Union.

Leaders from the two regions had reached a draft Brexit deal in 11th-hour talks on Thursday, although it is uncertain if the U.K lawmakers back home will approve the new deal.

“We’ve got a great new deal that takes back control — now Parliament should get Brexit done on Saturday so we can move on to other priorities like the cost of living, the NHS, violent crime and our environment #GetBrexitDone #TakeBackControl,” the Minister tweeted.

The British Pound rose by 0.8 percent against the U.S dollar to $1.2988 on Thursday before pulling back to $1.2799 as showing below.

Jean-Claude Juncker, President, European Commission, called the new deal “fair and balanced.”

He said: “🇪🇺🤝🇬🇧 Where there is a will, there is a #deal – we have one! It’s a fair and balanced agreement for the EU and the UK and it is testament to our commitment to find solutions. I recommend that #EUCO endorses this deal,” the president stated on Twitter.

The agreed draft deal will now be presented to European Union leaders at their summit on Thursday and Friday, while U.K lawmakers will deliberate on the new agreement during the weekend.
