Learners at the Nexford University have shared their experiences as the varsity prepares to host its Lagos Open Day.

During the Open Day, the Washington DC-based varsity would be empowering Nigeria’s entrepreneurs.

Participants of the Open Day, expected to hold on September 21, are required to pre-register free at www.nexford.org/lagos, says officials of the university.

While narrating their experiences, the learners eulogised Nexford for making a global impact.

It will be recalled that after launching six months ago, the university has enrolled hundreds of learners from 25 different countries.

“The university’s mode of delivering content online is a major advantage to me. It means that I don’t have to deal with moving abroad to get a great American education.

“Another big plus for me is to be a part of an international network of professionals. This provides a huge benefit to get expertise and support,” current MBA learner, Damilare Ogunmola, said.

Another Nigerian learner and entrepreneur, Idrees Ganiyat, who is building the skills to achieve her goal of starting an online supermarket, said Nexford gave her an opportunity to be the first to study at an American university online.

Ganiyat, who is the second youngest of eight siblings, is pursuing her first degree, a Bachelors in Business Administration, at Nexford University.

“Nexford has been amazing. I like the way lectures are delivered. You have to find information yourself and because you’re doing the work, the information sticks better. I’m adding value to my life being an MBA student at Nexford. The global business course has helped me to understand how businesses can thrive internationally, another MBA learner, Amarachi Amugo, added.

“Learning at Nexford has made me more confident. Because I don’t have a business background, I’ve taken foundation courses to help me with my MBA. I’ve realised strengths I didn’t think I had, and I’ve realised I can do anything I put my mind to – and I can even excel at it. With every class, every discussion, every assignment, every case study, there are so many possibilities of who I can become and who I want to be. I see myself in consulting at some point. I’m not done, but I feel so equipped to help businesses do better.”
