- AMCON Released Names, Companies of Debtors
The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has finally released the names and companies of its first 20 debtors.
The corporation on Tuesday, during a meeting with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, said only 20 people and entities owe 67 percent of the N5 trillion debt acquired by AMCON.
Osinbajo with Ministries and Agencies formed a task force to go after debtors after AMCON complained of unwillingness to pay.
Osinbajo was quoted as saying: “ We need a small team comprising these agencies to look at the next steps that we need to take, especially the criminal aspect, forfeiture and all of that.”
