  • WhatsApp To Launch Product Catalogue For Business Accounts

Facebook Inc., the owner of WhatsApp, during its annual F8 developer summit, announced the introduction of Product Catalogue on WhatsApp business accounts.

According to Facebook, the Product Catalogue will help small businesses without a web presence showcase their products and deepen their private platform presence.

“This is going to be especially important for all of the small businesses out there that don’t have a web presence, and that are increasingly using private social platforms is their main way of interacting with their customers,” said Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg onstage.

WhatsApp is also planning to roll out peer-to-peer payments in other countries after millions of successful feedbacks from Indian users.

Facebook acquired WhatsApp for $19 billion in February 2014. Since then, the world’s largest instant messaging app has grown to over 1.5 billion users in 180 countries as at the final quarter of 2018. Higher than second-place Facebook Messenger with 1.3 billion users.

WhatsApp Business app was first made available in January 2018, three months later, Mark Zuckerberg, said the standalone WhatsApp Business app had more than 3 million users.
