In commemoration of the International Women’s Day, Women in Nigeria have been urged to unearth their values for effective entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership.

Speaking at the Bestie Network Africa, FEMPOWER Africa 3.0, Barr. Gabriel Igboko, the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Abia State, emphasized the need to build values for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership, adding that if an extraordinary result is desired, then there is a need to grab hold of the extraordinary.

“In order to achieve balance for better, as this year’s United Nations International Women’s Day theme has it, especially for entrepreneurship, there is a need to step up from the background of reluctance to taking action. There is a need to digging up hidden values for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership,” he said.

Bestie Tamara Atti, the pioneer of the event, who spoke on the need for Women to get empowered for a balanced productivity, challenged women to introspect and make a commitment on how they were going to make a difference in matters of entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership.

She added that the rising number of women-owned small businesses and tech start-up innovations have revealed the capacity of female entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders in pioneering the needed change in Nigeria.

The Founder of iKapture network and Opportunity Desk, Grace Ihejiamaizu, who also spoke at the event, charged the female folk to position themselves for opportunities, saying they have to make themselves valuable, as a person of value has no hiding place.

The event, which was held under the theme ‘Empowering Women in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership,’ in Umuahia on April 6, attracted young entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders in different areas of life who shared their stories on how they used personal values in positioning themselves for better results.
