  • UAE Restricts Nigerians to One Month Tourist Visa

Following the arrest of five Nigerians that robbed a Bureau De Change in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirate authority has restricted all Nigerian passport holders to just 1 month, 96 hours and 48 hours UAE tourist Visas.

Therefore, Nigerian passport holders are no longer eligible for 3 months UAE Tourist Visa. Nigerian passport holders should please take note.

On March 20, five Nigerians stormed a Bureau De Change in Sharjah, UAE — four of the suspects entered the Bureau De Change office while one waited in a car outside.

The Nigerians, as can be seen in the CCTV released by Major-General Saif Al Zeri Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of the Sharjah Police, carted away Dh2.3 million.

“One of the employees sustained minor injuries to the back after being hit with a solid object by one of the offenders when he tried to stop them by shutting the glass door,” said Rashid Al Ansari, Al Ansari Exchange general manager, during a press conference at Sharjah Police headquarters.

According to the Commander-in-chief, the money was recovered after the number plate of the car in which the suspects fled was obtained.

Following the lead, one of the suspects was picked up in Sharjah within 48 hours. The suspect led the police to others – two in Ajman, one in Abu Dhabi and One in Ras Al Khaimah.

He said the suspects have since confessed to the crime and were even planning to leave the country before they were arrested.

Two of the suspects arrived the country on visit visas, with one arriving just two days before the robbery.

“The three others have residency visas issued by their workplace, a contracting company,” he said.
