  • INEC: 72.7m Nigerians Collected PVCs

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday said 72,775,502 Nigerians have so far collected their Permanent Voter Cards.

Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, INEC Chairman disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja.

According to him, “Out of 84,004,084 registered voters, 72,775,502 have PVCs”. Representing 86.63 per cent of registered voters that have collected their PVCs.

Still, 11, 228, 582 PVCs remain uncollected as of today.

Yakubu, however, said all the uncollected PVCs had been deposited at the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The Chairman said Lagos has the highest number of collected PVCs, which stood at 5.5 million, while Ekiti State has the lowest with 666,591 cards collected so far.
