Dangote Cement Reiterates Commitment to Global Standards

  • Dangote Cement Reiterates Commitment to Global Standards

Dangote Cement Plc has said it will continue to collaborate with stakeholders in the construction industry to provide services of global standards.

The Group Managing Director, Dangote Group, Joe Makoju, stated this at the unveiling of the Dangote BlocMaster, 42.5-grade cement in Benin, Edo State.

Makoju, represented by the National Sales Distribution Director, Adeyemi Fajobi, said that the new cement was a product of research designed to meet the needs of block moulders and ensure value for their money.

He said, “We believe in carrying our partners along we will continue to do that. One of the things that we are doing today is bringing good cement into the market.

“I am sure they (distributors) will gain more by selling BlocMaster, which we have introduced to them. This will command a premium and that is where the gain comes from.”

Makoju also stated that Edo remained a viable market for the company.

He said, “What we have brought in is better quality cement. We have four products in the market; incidentally, we have only three in Edo and all the products are different.

“BlocMaster is at the top range of the products that you can use for any activity that is concrete-based. All other products serve their purposes.”

The Director, Route to Market, Mrs Funmi Sani, listed the features of the new cement to include the ability to withstand harsh weather conditions, high turnouts and return on investment.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Edo State Block Moulders Association, Wilfred Osadiaye, who commended the company for the new grade of cement, called for incentives to increase sales.

Osadiaye said, “I have been in the cement business since 1960. If you can give us incentives, you will see that this new product will move faster.”

Meanwhile, companies under the Dangote Group have unveiled variety products at the ongoing Lagos International Trade Fair.

A statement from the group read, “NASCON Allied Products Plc, the producer of Dangote Salt and Dan-Q Seasoning, is also introducing Dangote Stew mix and Curry powder.

“It is also exhibiting Dangote Sugar Refinery, Dangote Flour Mill, Dangote Agrosacks and Dangote Pasta.

“Some of the products on display include Danvita, Alkama (wheat meal), confectionary flour, sugar, salt, Dangote Seasoning and its pasta varieties.”

The Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, signed the statement, noting that visitors to the group’s pavilion at the fair would have the opportunity of buying the companies’ products at reasonably reduced prices.

“A unique offering from the group in this year’s trade fair is the Dangote Combo pack which contains products from the stable of business units within the group. The pack is sold at discounted prices,” Chiejina added.
