A professor of agricultural economics, Chiedozie Eze, is scheduled to speak on the role of Customs in agricultural growth at a conference titled “Day with Nigeria Customs Service for Appraisal, Appreciation and Further Projection,” slated for October in Lagos.

According to a statement signed by the Rector of the Institute of Transport and Management Technology, organisers of the event, Dr Chibor Lilian, the major objective of the conference is to sensitise stakeholders and participants to the proactive roles of the Nigeria Customs Service in the nation’s economy and to engage in sound and intellectual interactive sessions on the correlation between the NCS and the agricultural sector of the economy.

The statement read in part, “It will equally applaud and recognise the conscious effort of the NCS as one of the performing agencies in Nigeria; hence inspires sound achievers, scholars of great integrity and other stakeholders.

“It will serve as a platform that will connect and network top professionals and visionary leaders at the conference, thereby fostering business and professional relationships. The post-conference objective is to further project the image and integrity of the NCS globally.

“The institute has been in training of high and middle-level manpower in both the aviation and maritime industries of the economy.

“The institute is approved by the Lagos State Government, Federal Ministry of Education and Federal Ministry of Transportation. The institute is recognised as the training centre of aviation management.”
