The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority said it recorded about N15.27bn revenue through its Ticket Sales Charge from both domestic and international airlines between January and August.

It was gathered on Sunday that the aviation regulator made $16.98m (N6.11bn) as the TSC from international carriers and over N9.16bn from local airlines within the period, through its automated system.

According to statistics released by the NCAA, passenger traffic in the last eight months was 2.4 million.

On the international route, the statistics showed that Ethiopian Airlines took the lead with over 134,104 passengers; Emirates, 107, 217 passengers while British Airways and Turkish Airlines had 86,249 and 70,392 passengers, respectively.

Air France flew 70,144 passengers; KLM Royal Dutch Airline had 63,990 passengers; Virgin Atlantic, 63, 448 passengers; and Delta Airlines, 39,196 passengers.

On the domestic route, the seven airlines in operation also recorded increase in passenger traffic with Air Peace having 340,664 passengers; Dana Air had 330,370; while Azman and Arik had 245, 437 and 177, 061 passengers, respectively.

Med-View Airline recorded 156, 226 passengers; Aero, 138,146 and Overland had about 78.166 passengers.
