The number of people using internet on their mobile devices rose in July following a decline in June, the Nigerian Communications Commission has reported.

According to the latest report, mobile internet users increased by 866,656 to 103.67 million in July, up from 102.81 million recorded in June.

Breaking down the numbers, Glo gained 574,821 of the total new internet users, increasing its subscription from 26.58 million in June to 27.15 million in July.

The report also showed that the embattled 9mobile lost 218,086 internet users in July, decreasing its subscription from 10.59 million in June to 10.37 million in July.

Airtel gained 375,724 users in July, bringing its total users to 27.09 million as against 26.71 million users in June. While MTN gained 137,197 new users in the month to 39.07 million, up from 38.94 in June.

Visafone network added 35,905 new internet users in the month, and multilinks maintained its same four subscribers.

On the Code-division multiple access network, the total number of Internet users jumped from 30,309 in June to 66,210 in July.
