ServiceDesk Plus, software developed by ManageEngine is helping banks, telecom firms among others to manage their IT assets, improve banking security and output.

Lead Product Support, ManageEngine, Charles Arokiaraj, said the software, available in Nigeria under the partnership of Tranter IT Infrastructure Services Limited, provides new opportunities for banks and other leading companies to protect their internal and external customers and provide excellent services.

Speaking during a workshop organised by ManageEngine for IT experts and leading companies in Lagos, he said ServiceDesk Plus helps firms that deploy it to monitor their IT networks and ensure that every of its operations and assets work seamlessly.

“We have our partners in Nigeria and they also assist in marketing the product. Every large organisation needs IT department and ServiceDesk Plus is a tool that will help them to improve on their output and service delivery. It helps you manage assets of your banks and solve vulnerability problems and there are any functionality built in the product,” he said.

Also speaking during the workshop, Executive Director, Tranter IT Infrastructure Services Limited, Melarie Ayoola, said ServiceDesk Plus unifies companies’ IT and helps in incidence management.

“It also helps you to see all your IT assets. So, anything that connects your network, that you may have to repair, maintain or just have a look at who has access to them will be handled by the Asset Management segment of the ServiceDesk Plus. Some assets are physical, and some are soft assets but this software helps the users see which incidences are happening to the assets,” she said.

According to her, an average bank will have a lot of employees spanning within a country and even outside a country.

“You have to ensure that you have same standard of operation in every branch, because what happens at the backend affects what your customers perceive.“
