The IBF, WBA, and IBO undefeated champion of the world, Anthony Joshua, successfully unified against New Zealand undefeated WBO Champion, Joseph Parker, on Saturday at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

Joseph Parker, 26, went into the fight with a perfect record of 24 fights, with 18 of those coming by the way of knockout while the remaining 6 went the distance. However, that wasn’t enough to stop the 17.4 stones, 20 perfect fight record, and heavy-handed Anthony Joshua.

Anthony Joshua, 28, proved too fast, too strong for the very determined, highly trained and confident Joseph Parker.

Unlike Joshua previous fights, this fight was more technical and fought from the outside throughout as Parker move a lot and fight from a distance, hence, negating Joshua usual combination and forced AJ to rely on his jab the entire fight.

“It was a technical fight, fought mostly from the outside. However, AJ uses his jab more, putting Parker on the back foot throughout the night, dominating the centre and pressuring Parker without significant power punch but pure technics,” said Samed Olukoya.

However, Parker proved he is a world champion and took the unbeaten AJ to his first 12 rounds, therefore, becoming the only fighter to go the distance with the unified world heavyweight champion.

Anthony Joshua is now expected to face American Champion, Deontay Wilder, to become the first undisputed Champion to unify the entire five belts in the division.
