The Area Controller, NCS, Seme Command, Mohammed Aliyu, has pledged that the command will not only meet its annual revenue target for 2018 but was determined to exceed it.

Aliyu, in a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Taupyen Selchang, noted that Seme started the year on a good note, generating N547m in January alone.

The controller was also quoted as saying that the anti-smuggling drive of the command was on course.

He noted that the clampdown on smuggling of petroleum products through the creeks was a demonstration of the command’s readiness to combat smuggling of any kind.

Aliyu was said to have informed the officers during the retraining exercise conducted by the Nigeria Army 243 Recce Battalion, Lagos, that the command expected a more professional approach in the handling and usage of arms.

He also promised to reward officers who had performed excellently while warning others against compromising the standards set by the service.

Aliyu said that the retraining would equip officers with all the necessary knowledge and skills to deal with challenges that they might face in the course of discharging their duties.

In the statement, Selchang said that the January revenue represented 81 per cent of the command’s annual revenue target.

According to him, the command made a total of 64 seizures worth N18.3m during the period under review.
