Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State has presented a 2018 budget of N130.7bn to the state House of Assembly.

Capital expenditure, according to the governor, will gulp N84.3bn, while N46.4bn is earmarked for recurrent expenditure.

Ten per cent of the budget, which amounts to N13bn, is allocated to the education sector.

Yari announced that arrangement had been made within the fiscal year to establish a state university to absorb growing number of admission seekers in the state.

The transport sector is allocated over N20bn; health is N5bn. while the N22bn is allocated to the environment sector comprising housing, water, town planning, drainages and community development.
