PowerGas and the Delta State Government have struck a partnership to develop gas-to-power projects in the state.

A statement said the firm had come up with a sustainable solution to the power problem facing industries and other consumers with its gas-to-power infrastructure.

“Contrary to popular opinion, Nigeria is more of a gas state than a petroleum state and if the needed attention is given to Nigerian gas as it is given to the petroleum, the income and revenue that will be generated form it will make income generated from crude oil a child’s play,” the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, was quoted to have said at the Virtual Gas to Power Summit organised by PowerGas in Delta.

Okowa, who was represented by the Chief of Staff (Special Duties) to Delta State, Tam Brisibe, encouraged the Federal Government to harness the natural gas resources in the country to create more gas-related industries.

The Managing Director, PowerGas, Mr. Pulak Sen, thanked DIDA and Delta State government for their support and partnership.

He said, “The CNG technology is the compressing and containerising of natural gas to enable shipment to customers either through rails, roads or waterways in skid tanks, which is in line with the National Gas Policy.”
