Nigerian Breweries Plc has rewarded five lucky consumers of Star Lager beer and football lovers with all-expense-paid trip to the United Kingdom to watch a live match.

The winners watched the 2017 English FA Cup final live at the Wembley stadium two weeks ago, the company said in a statement.

The lucky fans, who left the shores of the country few days before the match, got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch two of the biggest clubs in England, Chelsea and Arsenal, as they slugged it out in Wembley stadium.

Chelsea Football Club was the 2017 English Premier League Champions while Arsenal Football Club was the 2014 and 2015 FA Winners.

The premium beer brand had in 2016 and early 2017 became the official beer partner of Arsenal Football Club and five other major European clubs.

The Portfolio Manager, National Premium, Nigerian Breweries, Tokunbo Adodo, was quoted to have said, “Star Lager Beer is all about premium quality and adding fun and excitement to the lives of our consumers and football lovers across the country.

“As with every initiative we undertake, the all-expense paid trip to the FA Cup at Wembley stadium was yet another clear demonstration of how importantly we take consumer delight.”

One of the lucky fans, Olakumbi Titiloye, was quoted to have said, “I’m very excited to be making this trip. As a die-hard football fan, seeing live action at the stadium, especially an FA Cup final at Wembley of all places, was one opportunity I wouldn’t miss and an experience I would forever cherish.”

Star Lager was introduced into the Nigerian market on June 2, 1949, the statement added.
