Rimax Group of companies and Ota-Agbara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture have said there is a need to pay more attention to the development of the fast-growing industrial areas in Agbara-Ota, Ogun State, as well as support the economic development in the industrial region.

A statement quoted the Chairman, Rimax Group, Chief Livinus Okwara, as saying that the zone was critical to the economic growth and revival of not only Ogun State, but Nigeria as a whole.

Okwara, who is also a member of OTACCIMA, said it was important to ensure the realisation of the Africa Trade Centre and Recreation, to be sited at Okomi, in the newly created Atan Iju-Ota Local Council Development Area, by the Ogun State Government.

He said the African Trade Centre and Recreation would provide millions of direct and indirect jobs through haulage activities, catering services/facilities to meet the needs of at least two million visitors expected daily at the centre’s shops, swimming pool, amusement parks; sports, such as, football and wrestling; cinemas and others expected to make it one of the most attractive business empires in Africa.

Okwara commended the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, for his vision in developing the state, especially in the areas of social infrastructure such as road, education, health and rural development.

He said that soon the state would be the delight of both local and foreign investors as well as other categories of people, who would want to live there, make a living and contribute to its development.

He said that the development of road infrastructure in Agbara and its environs would significantly aid commerce, education and housing development.
