  • Unilever Posts N4.1bn Profit, Lafarge Reports N22.82bn Loss

Unilever Nigeria Plc has reported a profit before tax of N4.1bn for the financial year ended, December 31, 2016.

This is against N1.77bn profit posted in the corresponding period of 2015.

The firm’s revenue for the period stood at N69.77bn as against N59.22bn posted a year ago.

The directors of the company recommended payment of dividend in respect of year 2016 to the tune of N378,330,000 – that is, 10 kobo gross per share which is payable on May 12, 2017.

Lafarge Africa Plc also reported a pre-tax loss of N22.82bn for the year ended, December 2016.

The firm’s group loss before tax of N22.82bn was a huge drop compared to a profit of N29.29bn reported a year ago.

Lafarge’s group revenue stood at N219.71bn as against N267.23bn recorded in the same period of 2015.

It proposed a financial year dividend of 105 kobo per share.
