The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, is expected to declare the first ‘Made-in-Nigeria Building Material Trade Expo’ in Lagos, open, the organiser has said.

The organiser and publisher of Global Homes Magazine, Mrs. Roni Akins, said in a statement that the event, with theme: ‘Buy Nigeria to build Nigeria’, would bring an entire portfolio of building and construction products and solutions in one place, where building materials manufacturers, suppliers and support service providers would also showcase their best products.

“The major objectives of this trade show are to promote made in Nigeria building products; help made in Nigeria building products gain wide acceptance and patronage; and showcase the inventiveness and competitiveness of indigenous producers of building material products,” she said.

Akins added that the two-day event would also serve to expose the challenges facing the sector as well as proffer solutions.

“In view of this, outstanding professionals and seasoned executives have been lined up to lay bare the inherent benefits to be reaped in sustaining the tempo of a market saturated with made in Nigeria building products,” said.

Akins said the expo, which will hold on May 2 and 3, would become an annual event as it had the capacity to revolutionise the building materials sector of the economy in years to come.
