Nigeria’s first e-Library, academic.ng, has reached 100,000 articles’ milestone

Speaking on the milestone at the company’s office in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, the Founder/Chief Executive Officer, academix.ng, Iso Bassey, said, “This milestone coming shortly after our one year in business is a result of our commitment to our goal of providing Africa-focused research to the world. It is an encouragement to do even better. Our goal for 2017 is to hit the one-million milestone.

He said, “Our portal has had more than four million hits from five major countries namely Nigeria, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, China and Russia within one year of our operation.”

Speaking further, Bassey reaffirmed Academix’s commitment to offer its subscribers a fast growing, diverse and rich platform for research in all fields of Africa-focused research.

During the past year, academix.ng has forged partnerships with universities, government research agencies, and professional associations as well as local and international publishers.

“These partnerships have helped establish a pipeline for the delivery of high quality research material to academix.ng,” Bassey said.

Academix.ng was launched on September 1, 2015 to meet a growing demand for African-focused knowledge.

It features journals, research papers, theses, dissertations and reports. The portal currently has over 108,000 research items and offers subscriptions to individuals and organisations.
