  • NB, FRSC Begin ‘Don’t Drink and Drive’ Campaign

Nigerian Breweries Plc says it has commenced the ninth edition of the Don’t Drink and Drive Campaign being organised in some parts of the country in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps.

A statement by the NB said the programe, which began in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, was part of its efforts to promote responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages among road users, particularly commercial drivers and riders.

“The campaign rally, which was held at Jabi Park, had a large number of commercial drivers as well as other stakeholders in the transportation industry in attendance, said the company in a statement.

It quoted the Sector Commander of the FRSC, FCT, Mr. Sunday Oghenekaro, as saying that drink driving was responsible for a great percentage of preventable road crashes around the world.

He therefore advised that drinking of alcohol should not be combined with driving or walking on the road.

The sector commander, therefore, urged drivers and other road users to drink responsibly.

The Government Affairs Manager, Abuja, NB, Mrs. Adeola Odunaiya, said the Don’t Drink and Drive campaign was part of the company’s sustainability agenda of ‘Brewing a Better World’ and a healthy lifestyle.
